BLARNEY RUN/WALK

What: The Wauwatosa Historical Society proudly presents the 17th Annual Blarney Run/Walk. The 3.1 mile (5K) run and 2 mile walk are open to all men, women and children. The Post Race Party will include refreshments and awards ceremony. Proceeds will be devoted to preservation and education activities of the Wauwatosa Historical Society.

When:  Saturday, March 15, 2008 Blarney Run/Walk begins at 11:30 a.m. Fee: Advanced: $18 Day-of-Race: $20

The first 700 Blarney Run/Walk participants will be guaranteed a special commemorative long-sleeved T-shirt with an exclusive design.

Awards for the Blarney Run/Walk will be given to the overall male and female winners, the first three males and females in each age group, and the top wheelchair finisher. Results will be posted and awards will be presented immediately after the race in the Wil-O-Way Center.

TWINKLE TROT

What: Twinkle Trot is a 1/4 mile fun run for children age 10 and under. It will follow the Blarney Run/Walk. Twinkle Trot participants will receive a special short sleeved T-shirt and participation award.

When: Saturday, March 15, 2008 Twinkle Trot begins at 12:15 p.m. Fee: Advanced: $5 children (10 & under) Day-of-Race: $7 children (10 & under) Age Groups: Boys and girls age 10 and under.

Route: START On Underwood Parkway, just east of the Wil-O-Way parking lot entrance. Proceed east on Underwood to Swan Blvd. Turn right on Swan and proceed to turn-around point, prior to reaching Watertown Plank Road. Follow route back to Wil-O-Way.

FINISH Just east of parking lot entrance. Walkers will follow the runners and will turn around at 1 mile mark and head back to Wil-O-Way (See map for runners’ and walkers’ route). Parking is available in the Wil-O-Way parking lot.

Pre-Register: By mail using the form attached. Pre-registration must be received by March 13th. Forms are available at the reference desk of the Wauwatosa Library, Rodiez’s Running Store and the Kneeland-Walker House.

PRE-PAID PACKAGE PICKUP will be available on Friday,

March 14th, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m at the Wauwatosa Historical Society,          7406 Hillcrest Dr.

Race Day Registration: Will be in the Wil-O-Way Center, 10602 Underwood Parkway, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Packets must be picked up by noon.
