A non-profit, educational organization, the Wauwatosa Historical Society is committed to researching the history of Wauwatosa, and to collecting, preserving, and exhibiting objects and documents from the past. In 2002, the Society celebrated 25 years of continued activities and service to the Wauwatosa community.

Your membership supports these  ongoing projects and programs:

-Maintenance and cataloging of artifacts and           archival materials 

-Recreated 19th Century School House,which brings Wauwatosa second graders to the former hayloft of the coach house, where they reenact a typical school day in an early 1900s classroom.

-Victorian gardens, suitable for strolling or                special events; Our gardens were featured           nationally on Home & Garden Television’s               "Great American Garden Series" in May, 2003.

-Educational programs on restoration,             preservation, genealogy, and local history 

-Research Library of resource materials                  relating to Wauwatosa’s vivid history now  open  to the public 

-Development of walking tours in Wauwatosa neighborhoods 

-Sponsorship of annual Student Art Contest           featuring Wauwatosa Landmarks
